Filament Spectrum PP
High impact and chemical resistance
Spectrum PP is a new material based on a random unfilled copolymer polypropylene material. It has good mechanical properties combined with outstanding chemical resistance and low density. Our material does not require a heated building chamber to be printed and it exhibits enhanced layer bonding, thus reducing the anisotropy of the final part. A PP build plate is recommended for the neat material. Its specific quality is a low absorption of moisture, up to 0.3%.
In addition, PP features high flexibility (ultimate elongation - 500%) and high impact resistance plus reduced moment of inertia as compared to metal parts. PP has also a good chemical, temperature and electrical resistance. PP enables to obtain a relatively high resistance to thermal ageing, good tribological properties, including dry friction conditions such as in slide bearings. Very good mechanical properties of PP provide for a wide range of diverse applications.
To attain the very attractive properties of Spectrum PP, as regards the technical aspects, you need to follow the basic storage rules for such materials (in a dry and dark place with humidity below 15%). To obtain the best parameters of the printed object possible, it is recommended to dry the material prior to work.
Tip: It is recommended to print using a heated chamber. Use Magigoo PP for better adhesion.

Packaging
Filament is reeled on the neat, transparent spool. Each spool contains information on the type of material, diameter and recommended printing temperature. Filament is vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber. Whole product packed in the original, folied Spectrum Filaments packaging.
VERIFY YOUR SPOOL – the most precise quality control system on the market
Filament for 3D printers is manufactured by the method of free extrusion, which is one of the most difficult processing techniques by extrusion, due to the particularly large impact of process parameters on product dimensions and material homogenization.
During the production each 1mm of Spectrum Filament is being continuously measured in 2 axis with ±0.8µm accuracy, what allows to obtain a high-quality final product. As a proof of this, Spectrum Filaments has introduced, as one of the few manufacturers in the world, the possibility of presenting online, individually for each manufactured spool:
- the course of diameter on the entire length of the spool,
- mean diameter,
- ovality,
- standard deviation.
Precise survey guarantees that Spectrum Filaments products meet rigorous market requirements.
